Graphic Design SpecificationsGENERAL GUIDELINES

We ask that files be built following these general guidelines to ensure good quality: 

  • text should be made of vector-outlined or rasterized fonts
  • black color should be four-color blacks (CMYK)
  • provide PMS colors or CMYK breakdowns for specific and exact color requests
  • at least 1/8” bleed on each side of image
  • use our professional services to help you create your logos and artwork

RESOLUTION

dots per inchdpi = dots per inch. In general, the higher dpi, the better quality of your image, logo and artwork. Here are some guidelines on dpi:

INDOOR SIGNS

Desired resolution for indoor signs: 100 dpi to 150dpi or better. 300dpi preferred. Since people will be looking at graphics from a close distance and indoor signs are usually closer to the viewer, resolutions of source images may be lower than out door signs – but higher resolutions are always better.

OUTDOOR SIGNS

Desired resolution for outdoor signs: 150dpi to 300dpi. People will be looking at graphics from a greater distance and the size of the actual sign is typically much larger for outdoor signs, this the resolution of your source files must be higher.
